Hunter PvP Tips: Hunter vs Priest

As a Hunter facing Priest in PvP can be one of our biggest challenges. For one they can, obviously, heal. Secondly they have some seriously damaging damage over time (DOT) spells that can suck the ever loving life out of you faster than you can sic your pet. Thirdly is that darn bubble (shield) that they pop up right as you're about to take them out. The Priests main talent is staying alive and they can accomplish this with very little mana. So, what is there to do?
To successfully counter a Priest you've got to try and do three things at the same time. First off a Priest without mana is really just a dude in a dress so right away hit him with your mana drain. Most Priests will have some pretty massive mana pools so start draining as soon as possible. You'll probably not suck him dry but you will force him to make choices from one spell over another.
Secondly you need to shut him up. A Priest who is casting is causing you problems. Hit him with Silencing Shot and make sure your Pet is on him right away. With a good PvP pet, such as one with crowd control or stun ability, you can get some much needed distraction and spell interruption. If your toon is spec'd Beast Master you'll have a little more luck in this aspect of fighting Priests.
Thirdly the one overriding rule, the one thing that works well, the ONE thing you've got to remember when up against a Priest in either the Arena or in the Battle Grounds is burst damage. You've got to simply unleash everything you've got as fast as you can when the opportunity presents itself. There is no "playing" with a Priest. As Hunters we tend to get pretty good at setting up situations and then exploiting them via traps, stings and the like. With a Priest you got to hit them hard and fast.
It can be frustrating when you get one down to 5% Health, on the ropes, and they suddenly pop their bubble, seemingly pull a few percent mana out of thin air, do a full heal and come back at us like maniac's. Don't let that happen! Drain them, shut them up, get your pet on them and beat the snot out of them as fast and hard as you can!
