Hunter PvP Tips: Hunter vs Warrior

The secret to a Hunter taking out Warriors in PvP is, like most things, a matter of range. The nice thing is Warriors have no real Ranged Damage option available to them so if you can keep them off you they go down pretty harshly. Main point here, as with all melee types, is to keep him as far away from you and slowed and dotted as much as possible.

As you see a Warrior coming up on you drop a Freezing Trap and then lay into him with an Aimed, then Concussive then Multishot. If you've got a high damage macro set up pop that on him. Put as much hurt on the big burley bastard as you can before he hits that trap.

Once he is Cubed get some distance from him, spin around send your pet in and pop him with an Aimed then a Serpent Sting (DOT) and a Wing Clip to slow him down a bit. If it works out you'll still have a bit of time to feed him some extra lead with auto shot as well.

You can either wash / rinse / repeat this series if he lets you or, assuming he gets up on you, drop into a kiting system. Make sure you've got him Marked at all times and that you've got him Concussed as well to slow him up.

A couple of Warrior talents you'll need to deal with: A good Warrior is going to keep you Hamstrung as much as possible in an attempt to keep you out of shot range and within his strike range. Secondly you've got to deal with the Charging and Intercepting ability which are designed, again, for the Warrior to get right up in your business as fast as possible. Trap, Clip and Disengageget out of there!

If you happen to be of the Beast Mastery persuasion you'll have a good bit of advantage over most Warriors out there. With a couple of key talents, The Beast Within and Bestial Wrath, you'll be able to avoid the crowd control (CC) effects the Warrior tries to slow you up with. On top of that you'll have your very angry and damaging Pet to shred his backside while he tries to run you down.

Long story short keep away from them, chain trap, keep that DOT on them, keep your pet gnawing away and kite, kite, kite!
