Good Hunter PvP Gear is critical if you want to make a serious effort in the Battlegrounds or the Arena. If you think you'll be able to kick butt in PvP with even your best PvE gear let me save you some time and aggravationyou can't. Sure, it's the same game with pretty much the same rules but the playing style, burst damage capability and the focus is totally different and you'll get slaughtered without the right Hunter PvP Gear.

So it's a bit of a Chicken and the Egg scenario, right? To be good at Hunter PvP you need good PvP gear but to get PvP gear you've got to play a bunch of PvP. When you're starting out you are of course going to be playing in "regular" gear but don't worry about it. You will still be able to get in there, mix it up, get some kills and honor points and all that however you will get your butt handed to you pretty consistently. This is a perfect example of "taking your lumps" and we all have to do it when starting out. Everyone who starts out in PvP is going to be squishy for a while. It comes with the territory.

There are a few main stats that reign supreme when talking about gearing up a PvP Hunter. These must have stats are crit, ranged attack, stamina and agility. When looking though the gear lists, especially at first, it can be difficult to form a "plan" of what to get, what to prepare for and what piece to combine with what you already have. Keep these in mind: Crit, Ranged Attack Power, Agility and Stamina. Build them up, make your gear choices based on the idea of driving these stats as high as you can.

The main damage from a Hunter in PvP is going to be of the burst variety. When the opportunity presents itself a solid hunter has got to be ready to pump out the most possible damage in the shortest amount of time. This holds true for trying to drop an enemy, like a melee class, before they get to you or for standing off to the side and sniping. As a Hunter in PvP if you are going to get the job done it's got to be done quickly.

Keep the idea of burst damage in mind when you're choosing your PvP weapon as well. We are sort of conditioned to get the highest DPS boomstick we can find but for PVP grab the gun or bow with the highest MAX damage. You're going to be looking for big crits applied at range.

After you get your first few real PvP pieces of gear there will be a noticeable difference. You'll die less, you'll hit harder, you'll crit biggerin general life gets a lot more fun once you get over the hump!
